VG96 - French sailor Thierry Dubois stands on the stern of her capsized yacht Amnesty International in heavy seas at 52° south latitude, closer to Antarctica than Australia, Monday Jan 7th, 1997.Dubois managed to get aboard a life raft dropped to him by an Australian Air Force plane. Another plane also spotted a second yacht that had radioed for help, 56 YO Englishman Tony BULLIMORE's "Global Exide Challenger", also in deadly seas, 2,050 miles (3.300 km) southwest of Australia's western coast.
